Google and w3c valid html? From Hobo SEO

There’s a post I found interesting from the hobo seo blog about google and valid html, where he put original but duplicate content on the site, and the only version in google, yahoo, and msn/live is the valid xhtml 1.0 transitional.

I dunno, a larger sample is required before drawing any conclusion - but its nice grounds for further work.
(I’d like to beleive that the bots prefers sound code!)
