AdSense Taps 3 Billion Cell Phones!

AdSense Taps 3 Billion Cell Phones!

Three billion handset users compared to only 1 billion PC users.

If your website is available in one of these three protocols: WML (Wireless Markup Language),
XHTML (Extensible Hypertext Markup Language) or CHTML (Compact HTML), you might be getting
an invitation from Google to test Mobile AdSense ads as part of a limited beta test.

Essentially, Google, already the internet giant, is tripling it’s massive advertising revenue
potential which was $1 billion, based on their first quarter report of 2007.

Self Made Minds was invited to be a tester and offers this comment:
“Just a quick update rather than a post, a feature high up on the request list for some has now come to fruition. I received an email tonight to say that I was invited to test out Adsense for Mobile.”

Where I live, Metro Manila, Philippines, literally everyone under the age of 60 owns a cell phone. The Philippines is one of the largest consumer of SMS usage. These people actually sleep with their cell phones in bed with them. Would they click on AdSense ads that they see on their cells? You bettcha! Will they make a purchase from that merchant?

There’s the catch.

Anyone have some market research on this potential?

Paradise for MFA makers, kinda. Make your MFAs mobile phone compatible. That is, if your account hasn’t been banned yet like mine :D
