Web 2.0 : The Brett Tabke Video

I guess I need to pay more attention to the SEO forums. It seems they are going Web 2.0 with Brett Tabke of Webmasterworld, (WMW), making a video of himself at a hosting biz conference and putting the video in his post. Nice touch.

The interview was with George A. Roberts who is the founder of the new hosting conference, HostingCon and this year’s conference’s theme was “The Future of Hosted Services”. The HostingCon conference is different in that it does not forus on SEO, but rather on the web hosting business. With the success of the conference, this could be breaking ground for more and more specialized conferences.

An excert from Brett’s post:
Roberts has said that HostingCon is the largest gathering of hosting professionals and vendors in the world, and has also noted that the conference is a good place for those in the hosting industry to meet with both vendors and peers. He has spoken about the benefits of networking at HostingCon, which happen not only during the conference sessions but during the many events which go along with the trade show. There are numerous parties and after-hours events held during HostingCon according to Roberts, where business deals and networking take place in a more relaxed social environment

Bloggers are on this topic also.

MaineHost Blog: “Two of us (Benjamin and Daniel) just returned from HostingCon 2007 and brought back a wealth of knowledge to share.”

Personally, I’m not inclined to get into the hosting business, but many readers might be, in any case Brett’s post and his interview are worth reading, imo.
