Namecheap becoming the next Registerfly?

Posted on: August 3rd, 2007 by Earl Grey

Maybe not but what are they going to do with the $200 they stole from me?
Will the owner be hanging in the same lapdance bars as the owner of registerfly but spending my money for dances instead?

So many question because the cost of doing business with namecheap was a very expensive cost to me.

I decided to give namecheap a try when I was registering a batch of domains in a new market to me.
So I registered the domains without problem but about 3 hours later my account has been locked.
I emailed support to find out why my account had been locked and they replied 12 hours later that they wanted me to prove who I was.

No problem there because they asked for my phone number so I gave them it.
12 hours later and I was still waiting for their phone call.
24 hours later I was still waiting.

Normally in 2 hours I can get 100 domains up and start the indexing process but I still had $1600 of domains sat not making money.

Still no phone call so I contacted them to see why nothing was happening and they agreed to just refund my money which was cool.

But the problem is I paid $1600 and they refunded $1400

So where is the $200 that got lost in the transaction?

Is this theft?

Is this fraud?

All I know is that this $200 will be the most expensive fresh air I got.

Namecheap added to the ‘don’t do’ list.

I’ve been using Namecheap for the last couple of years with no problems.

Sorry you got screwed EG (or was it the exec in the strip club who did?)
