Sweet Lorelle, The Scraper Site Hunter From Hell!

Sure, you’ve heard of spam hunters, those people with an intense affection for tracking down and reporting search engine spam, but, did you know there are others that are tracking down plagerism?

Last week the New York Times did an article about one blogger, Lorelle VanFossen, who seems to have nothing else to do. Read it yourself, you won’t believe all the steps she takes. She goes through so much work everyday to find out who’s stealing her precious writings, (about travel and nature, or whatever), that she is losing more than she is earning.

The scary part, for the scrapers, is that she loves tracking them down and outing them with whatever tools she has at her disposal.

The NY Times article is here

Maybe I’ll find her website, (left out of the article LOL), scrape her nature writings and post them on about 100 free hosted sites just to keep her busy, nah, I wouldn’t do that, jk.

If that’s her true passion in life, so be it.

I have a much more productive take on it. I find them and where possible sue them, with minimal notice, for copyright and lost profits - works a treat. Best settlement $50,000+. Totally risk free and it beats working for a living.

  3. Interesting article. She certainly has every right to defend her own work from those who would attempt to steal it. Tracking down any and all scrapers might be a bit much, but I suppose everyone has to have a hobby and I am having trouble coming up with much sympathy for the scrapers here. :)

Probably she is a lesbian, but she is in denial or unable to find a mate. Now if we matched up her and spamhuntress…..
